/proc directory

/proc directory holds all the details about your Linux system, including its kernel, processes, and configuration parameters.
Under Linux, everything is managed as a file; even devices are accessed as files.The /proc directory using virtual files.Most virtual files always have a current timestamp, which indicates that they are constantly being kept up to date.

The /proc directory is organized in virtual directories and subdirectories, and it groups files by similar topic.

$ sudo ls /proc

Howto convert bin+cue to iso

If you download bin and cue separate files, you can merge as iso format.

Install bchunk:

$ sudo apt-get -y install bchunk

To convert bin and cue file to iso:

$ bchunk file.bin file.cue file.iso

Install VirtualBox:

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get -y install virtualbox-4.0 dkms

Howto search partition UUID

If you want to mount partiton in fstab, you need to search UUID for mount partiton:

$ ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid

Remote Desktop from windows to ubuntu

Install xrdp:

$ sudo apt-get -y install xrdp

From Windows use Remote Desktop to connect.

Extract rpm deb packages

Extract rpm package:

$ rpm2cpio installer.rpm | cpio -idv

Extract deb package:

$ dpkg-deb -x installer.deb ~/Desktop/

Install curl for ubuntu

$ sudo apt-get -y install curl libcurl3 libcurl3-dev php5-curl

Export and list all installed packages in ubuntu

Export installed packages to a file:

$ sudo dpkg --get-selections "*" > ~/Desktop/my_package
