luxadm – administer Sun Fire 880 storage subsystem and FC_AL devices

To check HBA card status:

# luxadm -e port
/devices/pci@2,600000/SUNW,qlc@0/fp@0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci@3,700000/SUNW,qlc@0/fp@0,0:devctl CONNECTED

To discover FC SAN disks:

# luxadm probe

Rescan FC SAN disk:

# luxadm -e forcelip /devices/pci@2,600000/SUNW,qlc@0/fp@0,0:devctl
# luxadm -e forcelip /devices/pci@3,700000/SUNW,qlc@0/fp@0,0:devctl

Format new attach disk:

# format

Display Enclosure info:

# luxadm display Enclosure

Display LUN info:

# luxadm display WWN

Offline device:

# luxadm -e offline /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0

Remove disk from slot f3 on enclosure Enc:

# luxadm remove__device ENC,f3

Insert new disk from slot f3 on enclosure ENC:

# luxadm insert_device ENC,f3

An example of using the expert mode hot plugging subcommands to  hot  remove  a  disk follows.
The first step reserves the SCSI device.

# luxadm -e reserve /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0

The next two steps take the disk to be removed offline then quiesce (停顿) the bus:

# luxadm -e offline /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0
# luxadm -e bus_quiesce /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0

Rremove the disk and continues by  unquiescing the bus.

# luxadm -e bus_unquiesce /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0

Putting the disk back online, then unreserving it:

# luxadm -e online /dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0
# luxadm release/dev/rdsk/c0t0d1s0
